2. What makes Renaissance Malibu different than other luxury rehabilitation facilities?
Many drug rehabilitation centers adhere to a strict 12-Step or anti-12-step approach. At Renaissance Malibu, we give you the freedom to choose your own path to recovery and the OPTION to participate in 12-Step. We offer group and individual therapy and the opportunity to attend various meetings in the city of Malibu.
3. What is Renaissance Malibu’s cell phone and computer policy?
We allow laptops and cell phones but they may only be used in your free time. They are prohibited during your therapy sessions, group sessions, and daily activities. At Renaissance we know how important it is to stay connected. Family, friends, and work activities should not be neglected just because you are in treatment.
6. What about my privacy/confidentiality?
At Renaissance Malibu we take your privacy very seriously. Our staff closely monitors the entrance to both of our facilities and our security gates only open for employees and pre-approved guests. Once you are admitted into our program, you are closely guarded and secured in our private beachfront facilities.
Many luxury drug rehabilitation centers call attention to their high profile guests for marketing purposes. At Renaissance Malibu we have a strict confidentiality policy and hold your right to privacy in the highest regard and always maintain full compliance in conjunction with HIPPA laws.
7. Does Renaissance Malibu offer interventions?
Yes we do. Intervention is a structured and closely managed process that involves confronting the individual and their addiction head on. It is important to construct consequences that the individual has been able to avoid up to this point. Renaissance Malibu has highly qualified affiliates domestically and internationally that will meet the unique needs of each individual.
8. Are my family and friends allowed to visit me?
YES! In fact, we encourage it. We want your stay at Renaissance to be as stress free and comfortable as possible. We also encourage residents to include their family members in therapy sessions. We even have a family of origin weekend where family and select friends can come and participate in group and individual sessions.
9. Does treatment end when I leave Renaissance or do you offer aftercare?
The disease of addiction is characterized by potential relapse. In order to minimize this occurrence it is important to have ongoing structure and support. At Renaissance Malibu we have an amazing Alumni network and a dedicated treatment staff that will help you every step of the way. Our Discharge Coordinator will even devise a full treatment plan that includes therapists, support groups, and local AA and NA meetings.
10. Does the treatment program offer a balance of group and individual activities?
Too much reliance on either group or individual activities can work against best possible outcomes. Since chemical dependency is characterized as a disease of isolation to rely solely on individual therapy can perpetuate problems without confronting the denial and inconsistency seen in the individual’s life. On the other hand, reliance on group therapy alone can often hinder individuals from divulging personal information that is necessary to heal.
