Intervention Assistance
The number one symptom of addiction is denial. Whether the addiction is related to drug addiction, alcoholism, sexual addiction, or eating disorders, the addict will deny that they have any issue no matter how severe the problem. As a family member, friend, or spouse it is difficult to watch a loved one go through the pain and anguish of addiction. The most effective solution to this problem is an intervention.
An intervention is a pre-planned meeting, by one of more people to help someone they know seek professional care and assistance with their addiction, crisis, or any other serious problem. The method of intervention relies heavily on incorporating the entire family unit, friends, and spouses in an effort to have not just the person suffering receive help, but also the co-dependent people in their lives. This kind of treatment emphasizes the importance of everyone involved getting healthy while simultaneously treating the addicted individual with dignity and respect.
Direct interventions are held by a concerned group of family members and friends, and a trained interventionist. At Renaissance Malibu, we offer intervention assistance to help family and friends assist in finding their loved one some much needed treatment. Confronting someone with addiction can be frightening and upsetting, which is why our intervention assistance is so important and useful. Our trained interventionists will meet with the concerned group, discuss options, plan out a sequence of events, and offer support before, during, and after the intervention. An intervention is typically the first step in getting a loved one to seek help, and with our assistance, we will make sure that happens.
